Do you listen to podcasts? Are there any you'd recommend?
Inspired by Alex.
I listen to many netcast. I want to point out that I called them netcast. The main reason for my addiction is the netcast called TWiT (this WEEK in TECH). It's a show by Leo Laporte and other technology savvy people, who are huge in technology industry, and many of which used to be on the Call for Help show, and The Screensavers show on tech tv, (the good old days). Anyways, In recent episodes they commented on being inspired to change the name to podcast to netcast for selveral reasons. The first is that Apple is trying to trademark anything with the word "Pod" just about. Doing so will have a direct effect on podcasters. Another reason is that many people hear the word "PODcast" and automatically think that you need an iPod to listen to them. I was on the offense about spreading the word to my friends that you don't need an iPod to listen to podcasts. So the name is sort of decieves to me. But here is where I stand.
I listen to 21 yes 21 different podcasts:
1. TWiT (this WEEK in TECH)
2. Inside the Net
3. Diggnation
4. This week in Media
5. DLTV (Digital Live TV)
6. Geekbreif
7. Dropshock (Halo 2/360)
8. Security Now
9. Photoshop TV
10. TIKI Bar TV
11. Ask a Ninja
12. Crankygeeks
13. Pixel Perfect (new)
14.Hak.5
15. Systm
16. The Broken
17. The Laporte Report
18. Radio Leo
19. Windows Weekly
20. CommandN
21. Floss Weekly
I do have favorites. Numbers 1-21 are my favorites. Also, I download most of these netcasts directly from their websites and not Itunes. Secondly, I do not own an iPod, I listen to them primarily on my pc while working, but If i'm on the go and listenting, it is on a different kind of mp3 player other than an iPod. I don't have anything against Apple, but This is so much easier for me.
